Veseli receives Germany's support for visa liberalization

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, was received today in a special meeting in Berlin by his German counterpart, the President of the Bundestag, Mr. Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble.

Speaker Veseli received confirmation that Germany supports visa liberalization for Kosovo and will give its positive assessment of the further steps that will be taken in this process.

The Head of the Assembly thanked the President of the German Bundestag for the strong support that Germany has given to Kosovo in all processes since liberation, independence and state building.

Speaker of Parliament Veseli emphasized that Berlin's official support for Kosovo in future processes is of particular importance, both in terms of the Euro-Atlantic journey and economic development, through German investments in Kosovo.

Veseli said that Kosovo and Germany, as two friendly countries, have already consolidated their cooperation in many spheres, but emphasized the need for these relations to be expanded and strengthened even further.

Speaker Veseli also focused on the cooperation between the two parliaments, highly appreciating the German legislative experience brought to the Assembly of Kosovo during the past years, as well as the continuous support of GIZ in many segments of the Assembly's work.

"We have Germany's support for visa liberalization for Kosovo. Germany is the biggest supporter and financier of Kosovo among the European Union countries. We are lucky to have such partners. Even in the meeting with the President of the German Bundestag, a great supporter of Kosovo's freedom, I asked for an even greater presence of Germany in Kosovo. I expressed the idea that one of the German republics be directly involved in the journey of our legal and economic reforms", emphasized Veseli after the meeting with his German counterpart.
