"Steel Dome" 1,1 billion euros, Turkey strengthens air defense

Turkey has taken a major new step to strengthen its multi-tiered “Steel Dome” air defense system. The well-known Turkish company ASELSAN has signed an additional agreement worth over 1,122 billion euros with the Presidency of Defense Industries to continue the production of air defense systems. The first deliveries are planned to take place during 2027-2030.

According to CNN Turk, the agreement includes the further development of the "Steel Dome", which consists of several layers of protection: the lower layer contains the KORKUT systems, the middle layer contains HİSAR, and the upper layer contains SİPER, which complete the country's complete air shield.

"Steel Dome" serves as the "brain" of Turkish air defense, integrating radar systems, weapons, communication modules, electro-optical sensors and artificial intelligence into a single network, A2 CNN reports. The system enables the creation of a common aerial view and the real-time transmission of data to operational centers, for fast and effective decision-making.

The Turkish defense industry is marking another important international presence with its participation in the BAMEX 2025 fair in Bamako, Mali, where companies such as Baykar, ASELSAN, Roketsan, MKE, STM and others are presenting their products for African markets.
