Sydney terrorist attack, Merz reacts: It left me shocked, we must fight anti-Semitism
A gun violence incident has occurred on Bondi Beach, where at least 12 people were killed and 29 others were injured, as a religious holiday was being celebrated by the Jewish community.
Germany has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Australia, while Chancellor Merz has reacted with a post on his X network.
He called the attack an attack on shared values and called for combating anti-Semitism.
"The anti-Semitic attack on Bondi Beach during Hanukkah leaves me deeply shocked. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. This is an attack on our shared values. We must fight anti-Semitism — here in Germany and around the world," Merz wrote.
