Syrian refugees abused and beaten at a school in Great Britain

A Syrian refugee family has been thrust into the spotlight after reports of violence and racially motivated attacks on its members since they took refuge in the UK.

The systematic harassment came to light after a video appeared online showing how the abuse is carried out there.

A 15-year-old boy, identified only as Jamal, is seen being abused, being grabbed and thrown to the ground, being held by the throat and having water poured over his face at Almondbury Community School.

The video went viral after it was shared by millions of social media users around the world, it reports. Indeksonline.

Thus, a 16-year-old has been interviewed by investigative bodies regarding this case, suspected of the attack in question that occurred on October 25.

Jamal's sister, who was wearing a headscarf, was also bullied at the same school.

The same one was abused by a group of women.

For their part, local police forces immediately began an investigation and are receiving information about the incident in question.

"We are aware of a video showing a girl being attacked at Almondbury Community School," the police department there said in a statement.

"The incident was not previously reported to the police, but we are now contacting the girl's family, who we are continuing to support," the statement said.
