The accused pleads guilty to punching the woman he was in a relationship with for about two weeks.

At the Basic Court in Pristina, in the initial hearing on Tuesday, the defendant BS pleaded guilty to the criminal offense of "Light bodily injury" against the injured party AZ.

The accused pleaded guilty after the indictment was read by prosecutor Rrahim Podvorica, reports "Oath for Justice".

"I plead guilty," the accused declared.

Judge Bujar Ahmeti, after receiving the opinions of the parties in the proceedings, issued a ruling approving the guilty plea of the accused BS.

"The court makes a ruling that the defendant Beha Sadiku pleads guilty to the criminal offense for which he is accused, after the court was previously convinced that he understood the nature, consequences and benefits of pleading guilty. You have made the plea of guilty voluntarily and without pressure, after you have received the necessary notes from the court. The indictment as such does not contain any legal violations or factual errors and this plea of guilty is in accordance with Article 242 of the Code of Criminal Procedure," said Judge Ahmeti.

Prosecutor Podvorica further requested that the guilty plea be accepted as a mitigating circumstance. Meanwhile, the accused BS said that he regretted his actions.

"I'm sorry, I made a mistake, I regret it and I apologize," the defendant said.

In this case, the announcement of the verdict was set for another date.

According to the indictment of the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, dated July 26, 2024, BS is accused of having physically attacked the injured party AZ on January 7, 2023, in Pristina, intentionally and with the intention of causing bodily harm, after a verbal dispute, by punching her in the face and causing minor bodily harm with temporary health consequences.

The indictment states that in her statement given to the Police, the injured party AZ said that on January 1, 2023, she was walking in the city to wait for the bus to go home and, according to her, the accused BS attacked her with punches.

"I started screaming and then BS ran away and some passersby called the police and sent me to UCCK for treatment. BS and I had been in a relationship for about two weeks," the injured party is quoted as saying by the investigator.

The indictment states that the defendant is a repeat offender.

Regarding these actions, BS is charged with the criminal offense of "Light bodily injury" under Article 185, paragraph 1, subparagraph 1.4 of the Criminal Code.
