The Krena riverbed is being repaired, Gjini signs the contract for the final phase of the project

The Mayor of Gjakova, Ardian Gjini, has announced that the project for the rehabilitation of the Krena riverbed is being finalized.

Through a post on Facebook, Gjini stated that the contract for the first part of the final phase of this project was signed today.

"The contract includes the construction of the segment from the Taliq Bridge to near the Gjakova Hospital. As in other parts of Krena, this area will also be turned into a functional urban space — with new collectors, modern sidewalks, public lighting and pedestrian bridges," Gjini announced.

This is his full announcement:

The Krena Riverbed is being completely finalized.

Today we signed the contract for the first part of the FINAL PHASE of this major project, which will give Gjakova a new development axis and a contemporary look.

The contract includes the construction of the segment from the Taliq Bridge to near the Gjakova Hospital. As in other parts of Krena, this area will be transformed into a functional urban space — with new collectors, modern sidewalks, public lighting and pedestrian bridges.

In the next phase, the project will connect to the Erenik River, completing a process that has radically transformed the city.

One of the most ambitious projects ever undertaken by a local government — a lasting asset that will be enjoyed by generations.
