The Faculty of Law's collaboration with the prestigious Nuremberg Academy
The Faculty of Law of the University of Pristina will have an advanced collaboration with the Nuremberg Academy (International Nuremberg Principles Academy) which represents a unique institution, with an international reputation and located in a historic site where the Nuremberg trials took place (Nuremberg, Germany), focused on the advancement of international criminal law and human rights.
The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Avni Puka, on December 10-12, 2025, paid an official visit to Nuremberg, at the invitation of the Nuremberg Academy, where, in addition to presentations at its forum, meetings with staff and researchers involved in the work of the academy, the Dean was hosted in a special meeting by the Director, Prof. Christoph Safferling.
Cooperation with the Nuremberg Academy will include the implementation of study visits, the participation of academic staff and students in conferences, high-level research activities, forums, seminars, research projects and publications within the academy.

In particular, the cooperation will focus on supporting the English-language master's program of the Faculty of Law. "Human Rights, International Criminal Law and Transitional Justice", through the participation of professors from the Nuremberg Academy and the Law School of the University of Erlangen in lectures and the organization of study visits for students of this program in Nuremberg, as well as supporting the development and advancement of the mission of "Center for the Study of Genocide, Holocaust and Transitional Justice"which was established at the UP Faculty of Law.
Overall, the work of the Nuremberg Academy as a prestigious institution supports the fight against impunity for the core international crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and the crime of aggression. The focus and activities of the Academy build on the legacy of the Nuremberg Principles, a lasting legacy from the Nuremberg trials and an evocative symbol of the rule of law and justice for international crimes.
