Lack of cancer drugs at UCCK, patients cannot afford treatment
The lack of essential drugs for cancer treatment at UCCK continues to cause great hardship for patients.
L. Xh from Drenas has indicated that his mother, diagnosed with stomach cancer and admitted to the Hematology Clinic, is being forced to buy her own chemotherapy medications.
He says that doctors have informed him that the drugs Bendamustine and Obinotuzumab are out of stock at UCCK, leaving the family with the burden of securing them. According to him, these drugs cost 534 euros at the pharmacies he sought.
But he says that with the conditions they have and the salary he receives, it is impossible for him to buy these medicines for his mother.
"It's a pity what's happening. With the salary I receive, I can't afford to provide these medicines. The doctors at UCCK told me that they have nothing to do because the medicines are missing and we have to buy them ourselves," he said.Indeksonline/
