The National Cyber Security Authority denies news of a cyber attack: False

In a reaction addressed to public opinion, the National Cyber Security Authority of Albania (AKSK) has announced that the information distributed in recent days on social networks and the media, regarding allegations of cyber attacks against state institutions, is untrue.

AKSK emphasizes that so far no cyber incident has been confirmed that has compromised the functioning, security or integrity of state systems.

In its announcement, the authority calls on the public and the media to rely only on official sources and to avoid spreading unconfirmed information, which may cause uncertainty and unnecessary panic in the public.

According to AKSK, cyberspace is monitored continuously, in constant cooperation with public institutions and responsible structures, while all necessary mechanisms are in place to identify and respond to any potential cyber incident.

The Authority announces that it will continue to inform the public in a transparent manner about any important developments related to cybersecurity in the country.

This reaction comes after several publications on social networks and media in recent days, claiming that a group of hackers from Russia had attacked and blocked the online pages of a state institution.

AKSK recalls that the country had previously faced serious cyberattacks, which according to authorities came from Iran, in August 2022.
