Sydney death toll rises to 12

The death toll from a shooting at Bondi Beach, in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, Australia, has risen to 12, The Guardian reports.

According to the police there, the perpetrator was also killed.

The Albanian Prime Minister said:

"There has been a horrific terrorist incident in Bondi during the Hanukkah celebration by the sea. This is a targeted attack on Jewish Australians on the first day of Hanukkah, which should be a day of joy, a celebration of faith. [The attack is] a vile act of anti-Semitism, terrorism that has struck at the heart of our nation.

An attack on Jewish Australians is an attack on every Australian.

"There is no place for this hatred, violence, and terrorism in our nation. Let me be clear: we will eradicate it."
