Power cuts at the KJC, however, some agenda items are approved
The electricity also affected the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), where during Tuesday's meeting, at a moment when the budget was being discussed, it was cut off.
However, at the 360th meeting, the KJC approved three agenda items that were open to the media, while six others that were closed remained under consideration.
The first item on the agenda, approved, was the review of the work plan of the Special Chamber of the Supreme Court for 2026.
While the second point, which was the implementation of the work plan of the Kosovo Judicial Council for 2025, was presented before approval by the Director of the Legal Office, Astrit Hoti, who said that the activities of the Kosovo courts were fulfilled.
"Today I will present to you the work and the plan of the document. The summarized data show a serious commitment at all levels of the system to the objectives set in the KJC work plan for 2025. In front of you, in the second point, you have all the necessary documents of the Kosovo Judicial Council, the Supreme Court, commercial, basic and appellate courts. At the level of the Kosovo Judicial Council, out of a total of 44 planned and completed activities, 41 are. This result shows the commitment of the KJC administration in fulfilling reforms in challenging practical and budgetary circumstances. The three activities that were planned and were not fulfilled were information technology, but due to the interruption of the project they remained. The Supreme Court has marked complete success by fulfilling 23 planned activities. This is a clear indicator of the implementing role. The Court of Appeal has fulfilled its annual plan with 29 activities, or 100 percent, which shows genuine good management and coordination of human resources. The Commercial Court, out of 28 activities, has implemented 26 of them, at an implementation rate of 93 percent, which is a useful result knowing the high caseload and the importance that this court has. At the level of basic courts, 100 percent of the following activities have been implemented: The Basic Court in Pristina, Ferizaj, Mitrovica and Gjakova, which means that out of 34 activities, 34 have been implemented, giving an excellent example of leadership and commitment. The Basic Court of Gjilan has implemented 31 activities out of 34, evidence of sustainable progress. The Courts of Peja and Prizren have implemented 33 out of 34 activities, which translates into an implementation rate of 97 percent, a good performance. Overall, these speak of high work results", he said.
With no votes against and no abstentions, the third item on the review of the employment plan for 2026 is approved.
Meanwhile, six other items on the agenda were closed to the media.
