The Prosecution and Police take action for falsification of election results in Suhareka

The Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren informs the public that, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police - Regional Police Directorate in Prizren, after receiving public information regarding the recount process of voting results, the Municipal Counting Center in Suhareka, with the authorization of the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren, Petrit Kryeziu, has initiated investigations on its own initiative.

Following authorization from the Prosecution and within the framework of this investigation, seventy-two (72) suspects were interviewed.

Nineteen (19) of them, after being interviewed by the police, by order of the State Prosecutor, were detained for 48 hours, in their capacity as chairmen of the commissions, due to the well-founded suspicion that they had committed the criminal offense of "Falsification of voting results" under Article 216, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code.

The Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren, within the legal deadlines, will evaluate the submission of the request regarding the determination of the measure to ensure the presence of the defendants in the procedure.
