Prosecutor in Milaim Zeke's case dismissed [Documents]
The Member of Parliament from the Social Democratic Initiative, Milam Zeka, was released earlier from house arrest.
Sources of Indeksonline announce that the special prosecutor in the case, Afrim Shefkiu, has been dismissed.
This was done following the request of lawyer Florent Latifaj based on Article 44, paragraph 3 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Indeksonline has also secured the decision stating that the Special Prosecution Office has approved the request of lawyer Florent Latifaj from Pristina dated October 22 for the exclusion of the PSK prosecutor, Afrim Shefkiu, from representing in court the SPRK indictment, PPS,NR63/2017, where the defendant is Milaim Zeka and others accused of criminal offenses: "money laundering", "fraud and tax evasion".
The reasoning behind the decision in question states that this request was submitted by lawyer Florent Latifaj, since if the prosecutor in the case, Afrim Shefkiu, represents this indictment in court, then there is a conflict of interest.
