Burdushi is sentenced to prison and fine

Hysri Peqani, the folk doctor known as 'Burdushi', has been sentenced by the Basic Court of Prizren to 1 year in prison and a 5 thousand euro fine, for the criminal offense of fraud.

The first instance court has found 'Burdushi' guilty of the criminal offense of fraud, an indictment from 2015.

According to the indictment of the Prosecution, "Burdushi" was accused that from 20.06.2014 to 12.08.2014 in Prizren, hiding the facts and with the purpose of illegally obtaining material benefit for himself or for the other person, or to cause material damage to another person, deceives or continues to mislead the injured party.

According to this indictment, the Prizren Basic Court found him guilty of the criminal offense charged according to the indictment of the Prizren Basic Prosecution.

The judge in the case, Mehmet Ndrecaj, upon announcing the verdict, emphasized that the evidence and case files proved that the defendant committed the criminal offense of fraud.

After the raid and evidence found in his house, the Prizren Prosecution Office is now investigating "Burdushi" for 4 criminal offenses: fraud, illegal activity, tax evasion, and illegal possession of weapons.
