Man from Albania who stole in Gjakova is sentenced to 2 years and 9 months in prison
The Basic Court in Gjakova has imposed a sentence of two years and 9 months effective imprisonment on the defendant AG, a citizen of the Republic of Albania, for a series of serious thefts committed in religious buildings in the Gjakova region.
The accused AG was found guilty of three criminal offenses of aggravated theft and was sentenced to a single sentence, with imprisonment for a period of two years and 9 months, where the time spent in detention from September 17, 2018 will also be counted towards this sentence.
"The accused AG, on December 28, 2016, in the village of Duznje, Gjakova, entered the religious building, the shrine of "Baba Danë", with the aim of embezzlement, by force, embezzling a sum of money collected from believers (nezrat). The same person again on September 15, 2018, in the late hours after midnight, forcibly entered the shrine of "Shejh Rama" and the shrine of "Baba Danë", the press release states, Indeksonline.
