Thief from Gjakova arrested for causing havoc with thefts in Deçan

Xhevat Thaçi, the person publicly wanted by the police on suspicion of several thefts committed in Deeçan and elsewhere, has been arrested.

Insider sources report that Xhevat Thaçi, 43, has been arrested by the Gjilan regional police. He is suspected of committing nearly 15 serious robberies at gunpoint.

Thaçi was arrested today after his third attempt to escape from the police.

Kosovo Police on the 27th of this month requested help in capturing him.

"Photos of the suspect were obtained from the security cameras in one of the cases of theft, namely entering the house and causing serious theft."

"We ask all print and electronic media to publish these photos and to request cooperation from the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo with the Kosovo Police, especially those who know and identify the suspect," the police statement said, requesting cooperation to arrest Thaçi.
