Three men survived 40 hours swimming in the sea
Last week, Typhoon Kalmaegi raged across Vietnam. Five people died, eleven boats sank, and 57 homes were destroyed. For three Vietnamese, the storm turned into a terrifying experience with an unexpected happy ending.
Cuong (44) was swept away by the storm. Sanh (37) and Quang (47) tried to save him, but their boat was capsized by high waves and destroyed. The three spent more than 40 hours at sea – and all were rescued alive.
The three men managed to stay together through the night from Thursday to Friday, holding hands. Two who wanted to save Cuong were wearing life jackets. However, early Saturday morning they became too weak to hold on. They pulled away from each other.
A cargo ship called Hai Nam 39 managed to find them conscious but extremely lethargic../Indeksonline/
