Trump changed his Chevrolet after many years, was seen in a Cadillac Escalade

US President Donald Trump is revamping his fleet, both on the ground and in the air.

This week, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the presidential motorcade unveiled new heavily armored Cadillac Escalade SUVs, while at the same time the delivery of a new Air Force One aircraft is expected, which should solve problems with the aging air fleet.

As President Trump arrived for meetings with world leaders and business leaders, observers were struck by a change in his motorcade. Instead of the familiar Chevrolet Suburbans that have been the backbone of American presidential security for decades, at least two massive, black Cadillac Escalades were seen in the front row.

Photos from Davos reveal that the vehicles are far from production models. They have significantly reinforced armor around the windshield and doors.

This change is not just cosmetic. For years, the Chevrolet Suburban has been the Secret Service's first choice due to its durability, space, and design that allows for easy adaptation for heavy armor and communications equipment.

The introduction of the Escalade, a higher-end brand within General Motors, signals a possible shift toward a new generation of vehicles for protecting senior government officials. The vehicles are said to be a new configuration or a test phase in the modernization of the Secret Service fleet.

President Trump himself reportedly expressed interest in Cadillac SUVs during a meeting with GM CEO Mary Barr last year. Shortly after, Curran visited GM's Michigan plant to discuss "the next generation of armored SUVs."./Indeksonline/
