Turkey ready to test twin-engine helicopter
The Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has built the prototype of the first domestic new-generation twin-engine, multi-purpose helicopter, which will be tested by the end of the year, Anadolu Agency (AA) reports.
The T625 prototype is designed to successfully survive bad weather conditions and now the system test remains to be carried out, after which its flight will be tested at the end of the year.
The helicopter's multi-purpose operational program is designed to meet the needs of the Turkish Air Force and other security institutions and is the product of an agreement signed in 2013 between TAI and the Turkish Undersecretariat for Defense.
According to the manufacturer, the helicopter will offer various services, including cargo, VIP transport, ambulance, and search and rescue operations.
The helicopter in question has a capacity of 14 passengers, including the two pilots.
"The aircraft incorporates some of the latest technologies, which will enable the highest level of safety and other operational benefits," says TAI.
The helicopter is designed for the local market, but also for the international one, while production is expected to begin in 2022.
