Turkey warns Iran, war could break out if US insists on extending deal

The Turkish Foreign Minister warned that expanding nuclear talks with Iran to include its ballistic missile program and regional activities would risk starting a new war.

"If the US insists on addressing all these issues simultaneously, the result will be the outbreak of another war in the region," Hakan Fidan said in an interview with the Financial Times, referring to Iran's missile arsenal and its support for militant groups.

However, according to Ankara's chief diplomat, the US and Iran are showing flexibility regarding the nuclear deal, with Washington appearing willing to tolerate uranium enrichment up to a certain level, writes A2 CNN.

"The Iranians are ready to accept that they have to reach a deal with the Americans, while the Americans understand that the Iranians have certain limits. It is pointless to try to force them," the Turkish foreign minister said.

On the other hand, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that Iran will continue to demand the lifting of financial sanctions and will insist on uranium enrichment rights.
