Two people arrested for deforestation in Kaçanik

Today, at around 08:10, during the implementation of the operational plan "Forest Protection 2025", police units of the Kaçanik police station noticed a Nissan vehicle, without license plates and modified, which was driven by the suspect FV, 31 years old. Meanwhile, the other suspect, KV, 34 years old, had arrived on a 4×4 motorcycle.

The two suspects, with two chainsaws, had started cutting wood in a place called "Llageri", "Sharri" National Park in the Kaçanik area. 

The police responded, but the two suspects did not stop at the scene, fleeing in an unknown direction.

Sufficient evidence was left at the scene, including:

– Nissan vehicle loaded with wood,
– a chainsaw and
– a telephone.

All of these were confiscated by the police, while the actions were carried out in coordination with the prosecutor in charge.

At around 15:00, the two suspects were arrested and after being interviewed by police investigators, by decision of the prosecutor, they were detained for 48 hours for further investigative procedures.
