"Diabetes is widespread everywhere, starting from newborns to the elderly. Diabetes is a very widespread chronic disease. Diabetes in the world is increasing due to the increase in obesity, due to unhealthy lifestyles and stress. In our clinic, we operate in two departments: the Department of Diabetology and the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases. In the clinic, 24-hour care is organized and maintained, approximately 800-900 patients are hospitalized. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus in Kosovo is 7.9%. We have about 15 thousand patients per year, we have 32 thousand beds. We have a very low number of deaths despite major complications. What is worrying is the problems with cardiovascular diseases. The age that most people come from is from the age of 16 affected by diabetes. Today we received a donation for a glucometer," she said.

Meanwhile, he said that the Endocrinology Department said that regarding insulin therapy, patients are sufficiently supplied and do not face shortages. However, he stressed that the supply of some drugs remains a challenge.
