Zelensky's visit to Greece under strict security measures and with 'secret' schedules
Under strict security measures and extreme secrecy, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Athens tomorrow, Greek media report.
On the agenda of his visit are energy and a vertical corridor for the transport of American LNG. Zelensky's visit takes place in about two years, after the one in August 2023.
The Ukrainian president's meeting schedules in Athens have not been announced for security reasons, as is the case with every trip by Zelensky, neighboring media write.
It is reported that Zelensky will meet first with President Konstantinos Tasoulas, then with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and his meetings will conclude with Parliament Speaker Nikitas Kaklamanis.
Energy is the hottest topic of discussion at these meetings, although Volodymyr Zelensky will also raise defense issues, an issue on which Greece has made it clear it cannot help, writes tch.
"We are concluding an agreement with Greece, in the energy sector, to maximize the possibilities for natural gas supplies to Ukraine, both for this winter and in the strategic plan, in the long term. Agreements with various European countries, from Norway to Greece, will provide guarantees for the supply of natural gas to our country. I thank all partners who are helping," Zelensky said earlier.
