Thieves who robbed a gas station at gunpoint are arrested

The Gjakova Regional Police Directorate has intensified the implementation of police, operational and investigative measures to prevent and detect criminal offenses and crack down on individuals and criminal groups.

Special focus has been placed on organizing police work to uncover criminal acts of robbery, identifying and arresting suspects implicated in such criminal acts.

The progress of the police investigation into these cases has resulted in the undertaking of raid operations and in this case the police have arrested two suspects, for whom there is reasonable suspicion that they acted in a group in the case of the armed robbery that occurred on 17.01.2021 at around 05:30 in the morning, where two (2) armed and masked suspects robbed a worker at a gas station in the village of Shishman and then fled in an unknown direction.

Immediately after the robbery, in a village near Gjakova, the suspects attempted to burn the clothes they were wearing at the time of the crime in order to destroy the evidence.

 After intensive work, investigators at the Gjakova Police Station have managed to identify the possible perpetrators of this case, and today, on 20.01.2021, the suspects were arrested.

Those arrested in the robbery case are:

1. Official Gazette dated 13.09.1994 and

2. SAdl. 29.09.1992

 After the arrest, the suspects were escorted to the Gjakova Police Station, where during the interview, in the presence of the defense attorney, they admitted to committing the criminal offense. They were detained for 48 hours by order of the state prosecutor, while investigations into their connection to any other criminal offense are continuing by the Investigations Sector of the Gjakova Police Station.
