He damaged mail worth over 70 thousand euros, the Peja Court sentences the defendant DF to 3 years in prison

The Basic Court in Peja, Department for Serious Crimes, has pronounced a guilty verdict against the defendant DF, for the criminal offense of "Embezzlement in office", under Article 425, paragraph 3, in conjunction with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo (CCRK).

After the trial, the court found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to 3 (three) years in prison, including time spent in detention and house arrest, as well as a fine of 1000 (one thousand) euros, which the defendant will pay within 30 days after the verdict becomes final.

Pursuant to Article 62, paragraph 2, item 2.2 of the CCRK, the defendant is ordered to pay the injured party, Posta e Kosova – Mitrovica 1, the amount of 71.572,26 euros, within 3 months from the receipt of the final judgment, under threat of compulsory execution.

According to Article 62, paragraph 2, item 2.3 of the CCRK, the defendant is prohibited from exercising functions in public administration or in the public service for a period of two years, after serving the prison sentence.
Against this judgment, the parties have the right to appeal within thirty (30) days from the day of acceptance of the judgment in written form.
