Worrying: Four suicides in three months
The death of a policeman and a doctor in Gjilan, and recently also the case of the death of the actor of the comic series 'O Sa Mirë' Art Kurti, have been marked as acts of suicide by the Kosovo Police.
During the three months of this year, four suicides were recorded in the Kosovo Police, but there are also other cases which were initiated as suspicious deaths, and any of them after the end of the investigation and forensic procedures may enter the category of suicides. .
Kosovo Police told Kallxo.com that they are approaching this issue from the perspective of investigating the act as an act.
"The police investigate these cases when it is suspected that the person was pushed to commit such an act, that is, when we are dealing with the criminal offense of 'pushing suicide' and when there is evidence that 'assisted suicide' has been used," the police response states.
According to KP, the statistics of suicides in 15 criminal offenses in recent years speak of fluctuating figures, while in other years until 2014 there was a decrease in cases marked as suicide.
According to Kosovo Police statistics, in 2015, 60 suicides and 219 attempted suicides were recorded, in 2016, 37 suicides and 229 attempted suicides were recorded, and in 2017, 32 suicides and 216 attempted suicides were recorded.
"Regarding the gender and age of the victims of suicide cases, we cannot say that there is a certain age that dominates, although slightly more frequent cases are those with victims aged between 18 and 40," the Kosovo Police response states.
According to the police, men are more likely to commit suicide.
The Kosovo Police appeals for persons who are suspected of having certain problems, or are depressed, to report to relevant institutions, including the police themselves.
