Enver Hoxhaj: The December 28 elections are decisive for the future of Kosovo

In a statement given during an interview, PDK deputy leader Enver Hoxhaj said that the year 2025 has found Kosovo in an extraordinary political and institutional situation, which, according to him, requires equally extraordinary support for political change.

"The situation has been extraordinary, and if the situation has been extraordinary, they must support political change in an extraordinary way," said Hoxhaj, adding that the focus is not on coming to power, but on preserving the state and democracy.

He stressed that political change is necessary to “preserve Kosovo as it was built, on the blood of martyrs and on the centuries-old sacrifice of the people.”

"In 2025 they saw what happened in Kosovo. The situation was extraordinary, and if the situation was extraordinary, they must support political change in an extraordinary way. We are not talking about coming to power, taking power, we are talking about how we should make political change, to preserve this Kosovo, as we have built it, on the blood of martyrs, on the sacrifice of a people for 100 years and to have a state that is led by a sovereign," Hoxhaj said in Pressing.

According to him, the upcoming elections are not simply a political competition, but a battle to protect democracy in the country. “These elections are about how we protect democracy in Kosovo,” Hoxhaj said.
