Fonseca set to leave, Sarri could take over at Roma

Maurizio Sarri is the main favorite to replace Paulo Fonseca as coach of the Roma team.

On Thursday, Italian media reported that Roma's management had contacted Sarri as they were expected to sack Fonseca following poor results in recent weeks.

Fonseca took over as Roma manager in the summer of 2019 and has a contract until the end of this season. Roma see Sarri as the right coach to replace the Portuguese Fonseca.

Sarri has been unemployed since last year when he was fired by Juventus after winning the Serie A title.
