Forced minor to perform sexual acts, one month detention for suspect

The Basic Court of Gjakova has approved the prosecution's request and has ordered a one-month detention measure against the defendant DZ, due to the well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of rape.

According to the request, "From April 2025 to October 2, 2025 in Gjakova, the defendant, through communication on the social network Snapchat, held meetings with the minor (born 2010), during which meetings without her consent he performed oral sexual acts. The defendant recorded the injured party during the act and then threatened her that he would publish the recording if she showed it to anyone, forcing her to meet with him again."

According to the announcement, the court has assessed that the legal conditions for imposing a detention measure on the defendant in question have been met, because we are dealing with a sensitive criminal offense, such that with the possible finding of the defendant at large, there is a real possibility that he will obstruct the course of the criminal proceedings by evading justice, influencing witnesses, or repeating the criminal offense.

The court has announced that the defendant will be held in custody for a period of one month, which will be calculated from the time of arrest, on October 7, 2025, and will last until November 6, 2025.
