KESCO receives the Social Impact and Inclusion Award from CSR Network Kosova
KESCO was honored with the Social Impact and Inclusion Award, presented by CSR Network Kosovo, in a solemn ceremony attended by representatives of local and international institutions, as well as the business community.
The award was accepted by Rudina Heroi Puka, Deputy CEO of KESCO, who emphasized that this recognition represents a confirmation of the company's long-term commitment to social responsibility, inclusiveness and sustainable development.
"This assessment is not only a recognition of our work, but also a testament that social responsibility, when built with commitment and vision, creates real and long-term change in society. For us, CSR is not an additional function, but rather, it is the way we do business and how we build trust with citizens," said Ms. Heroi Puka.
As a company that supplies over 700 thousand customers in Kosovo, KESCO is present in every home and institution. This position gives the company a unique role and great social responsibility, not only to supply electricity, but also to contribute to awareness, education and improvement of the quality of life in the community.
KESCO's commitment includes:
· Signing the UN Women Women's Empowerment Principles, as the first company in Kosovo with this public commitment to gender equality;
· A leadership structure where 50% of the Board of Directors and over 70% of managerial positions are held by women;
· Publication of the Sustainability Report, among the first in the energy sector, in accordance with international standards;
· Investments in youth education, mentoring and professional internships;
· Support for women entrepreneurs and promotion of their products in the value chain;
· Ongoing awareness campaigns through energy bills and communication channels on social issues, including equality, the fight against violence and health awareness;
· Promoting energy efficiency and savings as a contribution to a more sustainable Kosovo.
In addition to institutional initiatives, KESCO employees contribute voluntarily to concrete activities such as cleaning public spaces, donating blood, showing solidarity with families in need, as well as daily practices for saving energy, water, and materials.
This award was presented by a professional jury, recognizing KESCO's continued commitment to social responsibility and inclusion.
"This recognition goes to our over 240 employees, who contribute every day with professionalism and empathy to build a fairer company and a more inclusive society. It is an honor, but also a motivation to continue with the same dedication," concluded Ms. Heroi Puka.
