If you catch your partner cheating, chances are this isn't the first time they've cheated on you.

Most cheaters are caught red-handed during their third affair, according to experts.

On average, it takes four years for a traitor to be exposed – at least that's what a survey of more than 1,000 adults conducted by Illicit Encounters claims.

In addition to these statistics, the study also revealed that the affair leads to separation in only 15% of cases.

But, taking into account that the research was carried out only with British people, experts say that British couples are becoming like French couples, where they see affairs as a 'natural reaction' to relationships that start to become "stale".

More than 60% of cheaters are discovered by their partner at some stage in their marriage, but only 1 in 10 people are caught cheating during their first affair.

According to the study, 40% of cheaters are revealed about their acts through phone messages, e-mails, etc.
