Kurti participates in the conference organized by the Party of European Socialists and the S&D group

Today, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Albin Kurti, participated in a conference organized by the Party of European Socialists and the S&D group, which aimed to address the challenges surrounding COVID-19, the political situation and the paths of cooperation and solidarity in the Western Balkans.

At this conference, Prime Minister Kurti informed representatives of left-wing parties in Europe about the successful management that the Government of Kosovo has undertaken to prevent the spread of the Corona virus, to increase the number of recoveries, and to reduce the mortality rate of affected patients. He also mentioned the measures that the government has taken to help citizens and businesses, while also appreciating the financial and material assistance of the United States of America, the European Union and other allied states of the Republic of Kosovo.

Regarding the political situation, Prime Minister Kurti informed those present about the President's unconstitutional decision to form a new government with the old parties, emphasizing that the only way forward is to hold elections after the pandemic is over. That is, to respect and not violate the will of the citizens expressed on October 6.

For the success of a joint commitment, according to Prime Minister Kurti, international cooperation and solidarity is necessary not only within European institutions, but also throughout the social and political difficulties and struggles we face. "International solidarity is a matter of pragmatic organization based on commitments that produce effects", he said at the end of his speech.
