Kurti visits the elderly in Pristina: The state must prove itself with the elderly

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti visited the Home for the Elderly in Pristina today. Accompanied by Acting Minister of Finance Arben Vitia and Acting Deputy Minister of Finance and Transfers Ilir Aliu, he said that the state must prove itself with the elderly, women and children. And precisely for this reason, Kurti further said that his government, although in office, will offer its support to this category.

Kurti was further informed closely about whether all necessary measures have been taken to disinfect these spaces.

"Within the Home for the Elderly and Persons Without Family Care, 76 residents are housed and receive services, who are under 24-hour care by a staff of 58 people. Following the situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic, and considering the high risk that the Corona virus poses for the elderly, the management and care staff have taken appropriate and immediate actions to preserve the health of the elderly residents. These actions include disinfecting the spaces where the elderly stay and live, regular supply of protective equipment and a ban on entering and exiting the institution and a ban on family visits. As a result, none of the elderly residents and none of the staff have been infected with COVID-19," the statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office states.
