The verdict is reached for the man who beat his wife in front of their 8-year-old daughter

The Basic Court in Pristina has approved the request of the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, for the imposition of a detention order against the defendant BB for having committed the criminal offenses of Light Bodily Injury, under Article 188, paragraph 3, sub-paragraph 3.1, of the Criminal Code of Kosovo and Threatening, under Article 185, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of Kosovo.

"The defendant BB has been sentenced to detention for a period of one (1) month, from 28.06.2018 to 28.07.2018.

"The defendant BB on 28.06.2018 in Pristina, had threatened the injured party SH.A and had exercised physical violence against her, even in the presence of their 8-year-old daughter," the statement said, according to the report. Indeksonline.

The court has found that the request for the imposition of a detention order against the defendant BB is an adequate and necessary measure at this stage of the procedure, to ensure their presence in the criminal proceedings and the unimpeded development of the proceedings, since there are circumstances that indicate the risk that the same may repeat criminal offenses of the same or different type and nature.

The party has the right to appeal against this decision to the Court of Appeal of Kosovo./Indeksonline/
