Meta decrees four laws, including the one on the forgiveness of fines during the pandemic

The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, has decreed the promulgation of 4 laws, including the one for the forgiveness of fines imposed during the period of infection caused by Covid-19.

Meanwhile, the other three decrees are respectively for: the agreement with the EC and the EU to procure medical countermeasures; for the ratification of the loan agreement between the Republic of Albania and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the development policy for equal gender access to economic opportunities, as well as for the ratification of the agreement on military financial cooperation between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the implementing protocol regarding financial assistance between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Republic of Turkey.

Announcement of the Institution of the President of the Republic on the decreeing by proclamation of 4 laws

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Ilir Meta, has decreed the promulgation of 4 laws:

•Law No. 45/2020 “On the ratification of the military financial cooperation agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the implementing protocol regarding financial assistance between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Republic of Turkey”.

This agreement reflects the will of the Republic of Turkey to support stable relations with the Republic of Albania, through a direct contribution to the Armed Forces of our country.

• Law no. 51/2020 “On the approval of the normative act with the force of law, no. 16, dated 17.4.2020, of the Council of Ministers, “On the remission of administrative measures of a punitive nature imposed during the period of infection caused by COVID-19””.

Through this act, all administrative punitive measures imposed until April 17, 2020 for violating the rules or bylaws issued within the framework of measures taken to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, and the consequences created by these measures, are forgiven, while the obligations paid for administrative measures and fines are returned to citizens.

•Law No. 59/2020 “On the ratification of the loan agreement between the Republic of Albania and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the development policy for equal gender access to economic opportunities”.

Supporting several sectors to improve gender policies will undoubtedly be a valuable contribution to strengthening the role of women in the Albanian economy.

•Law No. 60/2020 “On the ratification of the joint procurement agreement between the Republic of Albania, the European Commission and the Member States of the European Union, for the procurement of medical countermeasures”, enables the finalization of the procedures for making the agreement enforceable that reflects a joint commitment to the purchase of medical countermeasures against serious cross-border threats to health.

The common approach to negotiating contracts of this nature will have a direct reflection on the responsibility, availability and price of medical products procured under the terms of negotiation of this agreement. /Top Channel/
