The Minister and the Commander of the KSF are expected to meet with the Commander of NATO Special Operations

The Minister of the Ministry for the Kosovo Security Force, Mr. Rrustem Berisha and the Commander of the KSF, Lieutenant General Rrahman Rama, received today at the Ministry, the Commander of NATO Special Operations, Rear Admiral Colin J. Kilrain.

Initially, Minister Rrustem Berisha and the NATO Special Operations Commander discussed the security situation in Kosovo, the region and beyond, as well as the country's institutional capacities in the field of security, with particular emphasis on the development, professionalization, advancement and cooperation of the KSF with NATO member states and partner states.

Also, Minister Berisha informed Rear Admiral Kilrain about the mission, tasks, capacities and commitment of the Force to the integration of communities, in particular the Serbian community, then the integration of the female gender as well as the commitment to increasing the level of interoperability with local emergency institutions as well as those from partner countries. Then Mr. Berisha expressed to the high-ranking guest from NATO the operational and professional readiness of the KSF, to participate with some specialized capacities in peacekeeping missions to contribute to maintaining peace wherever needed.

At the end of the meeting with Vice Admiral Kilrain, Minister Berisha once again reiterated the Euro-Atlantic orientation of Kosovo and the KSF as a ready, reliable, multi-ethnic force and represented by all the citizens of the country.

Meanwhile, in the meeting of the Commander of the Kosovo Security Force, Lieutenant General Rrahman Rama, with the NATO Commander for Special Operations, Rear Admiral Colin J. Kilrain, discussions were held on the establishment, development, professionalization, education and training, participation in joint exercises both in the region and beyond, and also on the achievements in increasing the level of interoperability of the KSF with the armies of the region, those of NATO member states and partner countries.

Rear Admiral Kilrain's visit continued to the KSF Civil Protection Regiment to see up close the professional capacity and equipment of this unit.
