Muharrem Sahiti: I will continue with Kosovo

Muharrem Sahiti has said that he will respect his contract with the Kosovo Football Federation until the end.

Muharrem Sahiti has finally decided to continue his work with the Kosovo National Football Team.

Albert Bunjaki's former assistant has said that he will respect his contract with the Kosovo Football Federation until the end, confirming on this occasion that he has no claims to remain Kosovo's first coach.

"I will continue to work in the Kosovo National Team, as I have a contract with the Board of the Football Federation. It also depends a lot on the new coach, but my position will be reviewed by the FFK Board and President Vokrri. As always, I am ready to work for what is required for football, but not with the claim to be the next coach," Sahiti told "Epoka e re".

Muharrem Sahiti, in his first match since Albert Bunjaki's departure, managed to bring Kosovo victory in a friendly match against Latvia (4-3), which took place on Monday at the "Adem Jashari" stadium in Mitrovica. He admitted that Kosovo definitely needs a new coach with international experience.

"I can freely say that Kosovo needs an experienced coach, who has led a team in the qualifications for the European and World Championships," Sahiti declared.

Finally, the former coach of Gjilan also spoke about the first congratulations he received after the friendly victory over Latvia.

"Two of the first calls were from president Fadil Vokrri and former coach Albert Bunjaki. Both of them congratulated me, the staff and the players on the victory. The victory made Bunjaki very happy, as he has done a great job in building the representative team," Bunjaki said.

Sahiti's career as a footballer has also been quite successful, with the main clubs he has played for including Prishtina, Konyaspor, Lokomotiv Plovdiv, Thun, Oberneuland and Gjilan. Sahiti was also a sports advisor to the Minister of MCYS, Kujtim Shala, in the previous government.
