Police arrest brother of Ardit Feriz, convicted of terrorism in the US

Kosovo Police have arrested the brother of Ardit Feriz from Gjakova, who is already sentenced to 20 years in prison in the United States for terrorist acts, Kosovo Police told Radio Free Europe, without providing details on when the arrest occurred.

While in prison, Ardit Ferizi collaborated with his brother to commit criminal offenses, such as accessing the personal information of US citizens for the purpose of material gain, according to an indictment filed earlier this month by the US Department of Justice.

"The Kosovo Police has dealt with several cases where the person in question was a suspect, mainly cases with an element of cyberattacks", it is stated in a response of the Kosovo Police sent to REL.

"He has been arrested as a suspect for these cases, for which he was a minor at the time of the commission of the crime. All cases have been processed with criminal charges in the relevant prosecutor's offices," the response states.

The police have not indicated what the role of American authorities is in the case of the Kosovar's arrest, but have said that "there was also cooperation with other competent institutions and authorities." /Rel/
