iPhones use a type of battery called Lithium-Ion, which is found in devices with rechargeable batteries. According to Battery Universe, low temperatures “increase the internal resistance and reduce the capacity” of a Lithium-Ion battery.

Apple says iPhones work best when temperatures range from zero to 35 degrees Celsius.

So, if you want to preserve your battery life longer, avoid using your iPhone in cold weather.
