LDK did not vote on the resolution, reacts: We do not legitimize a one-sided approach to justice

The Democratic League of Kosovo has reacted after refusing to vote in the Assembly on the resolution in defense of the KLA leaders in The Hague.

The rejection came after the Assembly did not approve the request to include in the resolution the disclosure of post-war killings in Kosovo.

"The Democratic League of Kosovo believes that the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo has a historical and political obligation to speak with a responsible, complete and fair voice for justice, not with partial and selective resolutions.
LDK strongly supports the principle of fair, impartial and in accordance with the highest constitutional and international standards for every citizen of Kosovo. This is a fundamental value of the rule of law and the Euro-Atlantic orientation of our Republic.
However, justice cannot be treated as a fragmented concept. It either applies to everyone, or it risks losing its legitimacy. For this reason, LDK deputies demanded that the Resolution clearly and unequivocally include the institutional obligation to clarify all unsolved post-war murders, including political murders. This is a debt to the victims, to society and to the state of Kosovo itself.
The refusal to include this request made the Resolution incomplete in substance and lacking in message. In the face of this, the LDK Parliamentary Group refuses to legitimize a one-sided approach to justice.
This stance is active and principled. LDK does not avoid responsibility, but exercises it. It does not remain silent about justice, but demands that it be complete. It does not relativize history, but rejects its political instrumentalization.
"The Democratic League of Kosovo will continue to demand: justice for all victims; fair and impartial trials; and a state that has the courage to face the truth, not choose it," the LDK's response states.Indeksonline/
