Vaccination, Italy imposes new rules

Italy is introducing new rules for the vaccination process. Those over the age of 80 will have to book a place with their family doctors, and those who are hospitalized will have the vaccine in the hospital or during their rehabilitation period.

For others, Italy is trying to facilitate booking with the help of the Italian Post Office.

Regional health councilor Alessio D'Amato, at Spallanzani regarding the launch of the anti-Covid vaccine, said: "40 stations will be set up in the city of Rome, which will be able to carry out up to 500 vaccinations per day each, for a total of 20,000 per day."

Meanwhile, important advice arrives from the health director of the Italian National Institute of Infectious Diseases, Lazzaro Spallanzani, Francesco Vaia:

"Those who are vaccinated cannot be vaccinated without a mask."

"It is a preliminary action because we do not know when the effectiveness will be 95 percent certain. The problem is that even the viral load we do not know how long it lasts. Until we have a number of vaccinated people who may not have problems, it is better for each of us to continue wearing masks. Other measures must always be taken into account: personal hygiene and fewer contacts," said the health director of the Italian National Institute of Infectious Diseases.
