Former England world champion dies

Sunday, 22 December 2019 10:05The former world champion with the England national team, Martin Peters, has passed away at the age of 76.
Peters passed away this morning, while he was sleeping. The family of the deceased gave the painful news to the whole world.
"It is with deep sadness that we announce that Martin passed away peacefully in his sleep at 04:00 this morning. A loving husband, father and grandfather, and a kind and gentle man, we are saddened by his departure from this life, but incredibly proud of what he achieved and the memories he gave."
"We cannot provide any further information to protect privacy," the Peters family statement reads.
Peters rose to prominence in England and Europe in the 60s with West Ham, scoring the second goal in the historic World Cup final at Wembley against West Germany, which the Three Lions won 4-2.
With West Ham he won the Cup Winners' Cup in 1965. He played in the team with legendary captain Bobby Moore and striker Geoff Hurst, who scored a hat-trick in the 1966 final.
