Vetëvendosje supports the creation of a commission to investigate the death of the 25-year-old
The Democratic Party of Kosovo has requested the creation of a Special Investigative Commission to investigate the death of the young man at the Student Center.
Vetëvendosje MP Fitim Uka has said that this party supports the creation of such a commission, but only as a last resort before all other measures are exhausted.
"As a last resort, in case this is insufficient, we as Vetëvendosje MPs also support a parliamentary investigation into this issue. If MPs see it necessary to have a Parliamentary Investigative Commission, we certainly support it."
Uka, who spoke to the media after the Health Commission meeting, said that the Prosecution should investigate this case as a priority and all those who may have committed potential violations should be brought to justice, Klan Kosova reports.
"Every citizen of Kosovo has rightly felt bad and we, as deputies of the Vetëvendosje Movement, have experienced the loss of the life of the 26-year-old from Gjilan with great emotional pain. Yesterday, but also today, there has been an attempt to politicize it to the extreme. What we have called for as deputies of the Vetëvendosje Movement is not to contradict the WHO recommendations not to publicize the details of this case, because this could trigger other cases."
"Of course, what we have emphasized several times in the meeting has been an independent investigation, that the Prosecution should take this case seriously, treat it as a priority. We must follow all possible legal procedures to request a detailed report from the Ministry of Health and thus the Prosecution and other bodies to bring to justice those who have shown negligence in this case."
