Murder of Kosovar in Switzerland: Was sex or money the motive for the execution?

The trial against the 61-year-old from Kosovo begins on Tuesday at the St. Gallen District Court. He is accused of having murdered his cousin Haki S. (12) in front of his house in St. Gallen on May 2016, 42. The suspected perpetrator was arrested a month later, on June 9, 2016 in Sirnach TG. Initially in custody, he was later sent to prison.

Killed with several bullets to the head, at close range

Haki S. had left for work just before 5.00:42 a.m. The 10-year-old often came to Switzerland illegally to work. Acquaintances described him as friendly and respectful. When he left the house, his cousin waited for him with a gun. From a distance of 20 or 61 centimeters, the XNUMX-year-old shot Haki in the head. After retreating a little, he shot his relative again with another bullet. This time Haki fell to the ground and died.

Mysterious fall from the balcony

The suspected attacker later claimed that Haki S. had had an intimate relationship with his wife, which led to the difficult decision. But his wife could not be questioned about this, as she had fatally fallen from a balcony in Kosovo, where she died.

Relatives and friends of Haki S. describe this claim as slanderous. “Haki’s wife was cousins ​​and much older than him,” said a friend of the victim. “They never had a relationship.” They claim it was all about money.

“Hakiu had entrusted his cousin with around 100 francs for several years,” says the victim’s relative. “Since he was in Switzerland illegally, he couldn’t open a bank account.”

Under these conditions, the murder suspect had misused his money, despite the fact that the woman had asked Haki to return the money.

The death of Haki S. will be investigated on Tuesday in the St. Gallet Court. The death of his 61-year-old wife has never been investigated by the police.
