But you should! ♥️ Music has always helped me through trying times in my life & I wrote this song with @jdoddwadd back in February based off of my own experiences…but it’s taken on a whole new meaning these past few weeks. I hope you can close your eyes and let this song take you where you need to go and release. Cry, scream, hug someone you love (if you can), thank God for another day…know that we’ll get through this together. @_danaisaiah and I marched yesterday in Hollywood. It was so beautiful to see the people from every walk of life come together and rise in solidarity with and for the black community. (See previous post to see these photos!) 1st – this sign stuck out to me because it is so true. How can you arrest us for standing up and using our voices peacefully but not the cops. As of now, I see THEY’VE BEEN CHARGED!!! Hallelujah! Which is a win but we have much, much more work to do. 2nd – I was walking behind this beautiful woman who was shouting for justice as loudly as we were. Then I noticed her backpack. She was and is willing to put herself in harms way if it came down to the police turning violent. My heart swelled knowing that risk was very real and she was ready for people she didn’t even know. That’s solidarity! 3rd – I saw this a few minutes ago and was so struck by it that I had to post here.
